- The Itch Factor! - Scratch your customer's itches. This refers to the spare parts and
consumer products associated with the original sale, that don't necessarily have to be bought from you, but must be purchased for years. Margins are generally a lot higher on these products so substantial profit lies awaiting. Scratch those customer itches. Additionally this will assist to plug the leaky bucket (Item 10).
- "How is our business going to improve your business?" Ask that to yourself for each and every prospective
customer you have. Try swapping roles in your mind …
- Why is it that sales people often only contact prospective customers when they want to sell them something.
Perhaps the customer has the urge to 'buy', your salespeople and your company need to be at the front of the customer's
mind.
- We are judged by our differences, not our similarities. The greater the similarities the more emphasis there
will be on product pricing.
- Never make the customer think they are wrong … even if they are. This isn't quite so critical once a solid
relationship has been built up over time.
