How often have we heard, "that's not what I meant", when issues arise?
Far too many people have said it, after suffering, during suffering, and the clever ones … before any suffering begins. Why does it
occur?
I THINK IT'S QUITE SIMPLE!!
The 'sender' can say, or mean anything they wish … it is irrelevant. I apologise, but use an example of a deaf person - zero effect, nothing heard. The 'sender' may think the job is done, but didn't realise the 'receiver' was
deaf.
YOU MUST BE AWARE OF 'SELECTIVE DEAFNESS' & 'SELECTIVE
BLINDNESS' AMONGST EMPLOYEES
The communicated message is totally in the receiver's perception. Whatever is heard, how it is heard (intended or not), and how/what is understood is in the receiver's mind.
I suspect, that in the vast majority of communicated messages, something is
misunderstood.
IF THE MESSAGE IS IMPORTANT THE SENDER MUST
ENSURE THAT THE INTENDED MESSAGE IS THE 'RECEIVED' MESSAGE
Request confirmation as to what the receiver understands the message to
be.
