The WebSmartIdeas aims to promote and disseminate good creative ideas to improve
society.
- The old adage, "Do unto others as you would expect them to do unto
you", applies.
- Your writing should reflect how you would prefer someone to write to you. Put yourself in their position, would you appreciate the letter? The style? The tone? The
content?
- Your letter is a presentation, it is an advertisement, give it some substance. Structure it the same way, an opening, a body and a closing. Make sure the body is punchy, interesting and most importantly, relevant. You are trying to stimulate action, and in this regard don't leave any
ambiguity.
- Don't be afraid to use up-to-date language. "Hello John" and "Best regards" are quite acceptable to most people these days. Trying to make money out of someone who is 'sincerely dear' to you seems odd.
